2v2/3v3 Shooting (COE)

  • Process

    - 2v2.

    - AT (Blue) attacks the goal and must score over half way, the DF (Red) defends.

    - Once a goal is score or the ball goes out from and shot, 2 new DF (Red)enter with a ball to attack their goal on opposite end.

    - If the ball goes out of play before a shot is taken, coach plays in a new ball to the same player.

    - The player who shoots must touch the goal post before retreating to defend.

    PROGRESSION: 

    P1 – Must play a pass to enter the AT half.

    P2 – Add GK.

    P3 - 3v3.

    REGRESSION:

    R1 – Increase the time it takes for 2nd defender to join play (i.e. run around the goal).

    R2 – 2v1/3v1/3v2 who transition (ball always restarts after a shot or goal).

  • Tip

    OBJECTIVE:

    Quality Shots on goal. 

    COACHING POINTS:

    Angle of approach.

    Strike with the inside/laces of the foot.

    Planting foot next to the ball.

    Balanced (not reaching) on the strike.
