COE (SA) 1v1 COD w/ Dribble Gates

  • Organisation

    (See Diagram)

    - Play Area: 20m x 12m

    - Dribble Gate: 4-8m depending on skill level

    - Players in 2 Team (4-6 players on each team) 

    - Multiple grids may be necessary



  • Process

    - Coach plays ball to AT (blue) player and DF (yellow) approaches

    - AT scores by dribbling through side gates

    - If DF can regain possession, they can score by dribbling through gate

    - 4 x 3 minute rounds/ 2 minute rest

    - Swap roles every round

     

    PROGRESSIONS:

    P1 - Vary service types to make give defender more time to approach 

    P2 - Defenders can play ball to AT

     

  • Tip

    OBJECTIVE: 

    Improve timing, decision making, and execution of COD techniques while under pressure

    PLAYER TASKS:

    - Can keep the ball on the "safe side" when performing turns to shield ball?

    - Can you disguise your intentions and shift the DF to create more space?
