COE (SA) RWB Technique w/ Deceleration and Turn

  • Organisation

    (see diagram) 

    - 15 m x 8 m each lane

    - Players in groups of 4-5

    - Multiple lanes necessary

  • Process

    - Player uses RWB technique to opposite side

    - Player must decelerate and perform a turn within end zone (yellow cones) 

    - Returns to start using RWB technique and gives ball to next player in line

    - Practice technique for 2 minutes before RELAY

    P1- Pass back to start instead of dribble

     

     

  • Tip

    OBJECTIVE: 

    Improve RWB technique and ability to decelerate and turn

    COACHING POINTS:

    - Strong first touch to build pace

    - Use laces/outside of foot to match running mechanics and for more speed

    - Minimize touches to get across

    - Consider weight of touch to decelerate in time
