Passing with Goal Attempt Variation I

  • Organisation

Five cones are laid out as shown. Several players stand at the starting cones with a ball. One player stands at the other cones plus a goalkeeper.
  • Process

Player A passes to B, who lays the ball off for A to run onto and moves towards D. A passes to C, C touches the ball off to B and C runs towards the goal. B passes to D who passes to C in space. C shoots. All players move on one position apart from D who joins the starting position on the parallel exercise. Alternative: - Player A passes straight to C, who passes to B etc. - Player A passes to D after the one-two with B and he passes to C. - Player A passes the first ball deep to D. D can chose if he lays the bvall off to C or tries to score alone.
  • Tip

5 cones, 1 full-court goal(s), The focus is on developing variable, fast passing with goal attempts through the middle. - Good technique, touch and passing is important. - The strength and precision of the pass. - Precision is more imporatant than speed. - Concentration must be held at all times. - Communication is continuously important. - Anticipation, awareness, reaction, speed of movement with and without the ball are regularly tested. - Practise of rehearsed phases of play, short passing and varaible combination football. - Goal scoring.
