Passing with Goal Attemt Variation IV

  • Organisation

Three cone goals are laid out as shown. Two or more players stand at the starting cones, two players stand at the middle cones and one player stands at the cone nearest to the goal. There is one goalkeeper in goal.
  • Process

The left and right groups take turns to complete the phases of play variation I & II culminating with a shot at goal. The player passing the ball decides which variation he will run. The goalkeeper starts the move with a throw. Variation I: A (1) passes to C, B moves two to three metres to the side to be able to pass the ball from C to D with one touch. D attempts to score. A runs to the middle cone and B takes up the positon form D. C stays at the middle cone. D joins the start cone etc. Variation II: Z passes (1) to X whose first movement is towards player Z. X (2) then lays the ball into space for Z and then moves after passing the ball. Z passes (3) to Y with his first touch, Y then passes with his first touch in space (4) to X. X passes to W (5). Player W tries to score. Z joins the middle cone after his pass. Y stays where he is. X joins the last cone with W after his three runs. W joins the start cone etc. Alternative: - Goal scoring competition. Both teams count their goals scored. - A second goal can be introduced.
