Materials:
Balls, cones

Process of this exercise

The players build groups of three each. Each group with two balls and two cones. The groups spread across the field and set up the cones with a distance of around 15m. One player to each cone (A and B) and the third player, without ball, is in the middle.On command of the coach player C moves 1-2m towards player A, receives a pass on the ground and lays the ball off back to player A. Then he turns, moves 1-2m towards player B, receives a pass on the ground and lays the ball off for player B and so on. After ten passes to A and B the positions are swapped.

Helpful information regarding this exercise

 

  • As a warm-up drill the movement towards the players A and B should be at moderate speed. During the main part this movement can be much quicker.
  • Variations:
    - Passing / Controling only with the left or right foot
    - Passes in the air
    - Throw the ball towards the chest of player C. He passes back after he controlled the ball
    - Throw the ball towards player C’s head.
