Double One-Two I

  • Organisation

4 cones are laid out as shown. 3 players start at each of the large cones. One player starts at each of the small cones.
  • Process

The blue player starts by passing to the blue player at the small cone who lays the ball off. The first blue player the passes with his first touch to the red player at the other small cone who also lays the ball back. The blue player then passes with his first touch to the players at the large cone at the other end of the drill. When the ball arrives, the same sequence continues from that end, starting with a one-two with the red player and then a one-two with the blue player. The blue player joins the red group after his two one-twos.
  • Tip

    - The player waiting for the ball starts moving towards the ball as the ball is passed. - The player passing the ball must orientate his running speed to the speed of the ball. - The standing leg is often too far away from the ball and/or the player leans back. - Timing of the pass is important. - Players often run faster than they pass. - Demand good strength of pass and pass precision.
  • Field size

    25 x 12m
  • Cone margins

The two large cones are 25m apart. The small cones are 6m to the side and 7m behind the respective large cones.
