Double shot action

  • Organisation

The goalkeeper stands at the near post according to the diagram. A goalkeeping coach (A) stands with the ball behind the goal, another stands 10 meters to the side (C) and another stands 10-12 meters centrally, in front of the goal (B). The balls are with the goalkeeping coaches.
  • Process

The goalkeeper stands in the goal with his back to the open field. As soon as A drops the ball, the goalkeeper turns to face coach B whose first shot he tries to stop (towards the far post). He then immediately tries to stop the second shot from C, who aims for the near post. Intensity: 6-8 Repetitions. Course of movements: A –Coach drops the ball. 1 –Goalkeeper reacts to this signal, turns and tries to stop the ball from B. C –Second shot. 2 –Goalkeeper’s jump/reaction to the second ball. Learning aid: 1 Full-size goal
  • Tip

    - As soon as the coach starts to turn, the coach takes his shot. - The goalkeeper tries to catch the balls, if this is not possible he should push the ball of to the side. -The takeoff takes place either with or without an intermediate step. Taking many steps, makes for too large a waste of time. When taking off, the bodyweight is on the push-off leg. The goalkeeper jumps with a momentum step to the side. To the right, by taking momentum over his right foot, and laterally pushes off over the soccer ball. To the left by taking momentum over the left foot. -The goalkeeper has a movement to the right and one to the left. -Change the side and angle of the shots.
