Dribbling techniques and tricks - dribbling and tricks in two groups of 5

  • Organisation

Two groups of 5 stand opposite each other in lines at either side of the box. The players should be approx. 5 meters apart. Both front players (see graphic) should start with a ball and start facing the other players. A ball should be played at each diagonally opposite cone.
  • Process

The starting player runs slalom through the other players in his group. He dribbles through the players and uses the same (or different) trick before each player before dribbling past him. The “obstacle players” should jog slowly towards the player with the ball. The player closest to the starting cone then collects a ball from the starting cone and begins to dribble through the “obstacle players”. When each player has completed the slalom dribble, he passes to the player at the start of the other group and joins the back of this group. The players change group at the end of each drill.
  • Tip

    - This exercise only works when both teams dribble at the same speed. To achieve this, they must observe one another and communicate to the player with the ball how fast he should dribble. - The distance between the players must remain the same, so that the player with the ball has the opportunity to correctly carry out his trick. - The player with the ball is forced to regularly look up by the movement of the players towards him. - The players approaching the player with the ball should not approach too fast otherwise the distances between players will become irregular. - Close & tight control is essential to completing this exercise successfully. - The dribbler must keep his eye on both the ball and the opponent. - The last pass must be hit precisely to the other side and communicated by way of a short call.
  • Field size

10 x 30 Meter. Pro zusätzlichem Spieler verlängert sich das Feld um 5 Meter.
  • Cone margins

width 10 meters, length 30 meters.
