Goal shots with cone obstacles

  • Organisation

The goalkeeper trainer positions himself 14-20 meters in front of the goal. Several cones (preferably round ones) are set up in the penalty area. The goalkeeper stands in the goal and the goalkeeper trainer has the balls.
  • Process

The goalkeeper trainer shoots flat balls at the goal. Depending on whether the ball touches one or more cones, the trajectory of the ball will change. The goalkeeper tries to save the approaching balls. Resources: 1 field goal, 20 cones
  • Tip

The goalkeeper must anticipate the trajectory of the ball very quickly. This will help to enhance the player’s responsiveness. As far as possible the goalkeeper should keep hold of the balls. If he is unable to do so, he should discard the ball to the side. - Just before the trainer touches the ball the goalkeeper does a small jump with both legs or takes a small step forward, spreads his arms out to the side, bends his knees slightly and stands on the balls of his feet. - His feet should point in the direction of the trainer and are about hip-width apart, upper-body bent slightly forward and eyes remain fixed on the ball. - The correct technique for the balls of the feet is very important here, to be able to push yourself off the ground firmly and at short notice.
