One-Two at at four Positions

  • Organisation

The diamond/corss ist made up from 4 cones. Two players start at the large cones, 1 player at each of the small cones.
  • Process

The blue player starts with a short pass to the blue player at the side who lays the ball off with his first touch. As soon as the ball has left the feet of the player laying the ball off, the first blue player follows his pass and passes directly to the red player stationed at the other large cone with his first touch. The red player then, with one touch, passes to the red player at the small cone on the other side who lays the ball off for him and the whole sequence runs again on the other side. Alternative: - After the first pass, the player laying the ball of can take one or two touches - Evereything one-touch with two balls.
  • Tip

    - The drill should, at first, be completed slowly and with one ball. - The first passer of the ball must run towards the pass. - Players usually run faster than they pass. This should be avoided. - If the balls aren't passed hard enough or with enough precision then the drill breaks down. - This drill requires a large amount of concentration. - When controlling the ball the player's standing leg is often too far away from the ball, and/or the player leans back. - Lots of player pass with their 'laces' or with the outstep. Passing and controlling with the instep is considerably easier as a first step. - The player passing must should pass the ball diagonally on to the correct foot of his team mate so that he can pass/control the ball efficiently.
