Passing in three Levels

  • Organisation

    Set up a passing drill with 4 cones as shown. Thefirst cone whould be occupied by more than one player, One player at each of the other cones. (1) Level 1 (2) Level 2 (3) Level 3
  • Process

    Level 1: Plaer A begins the drill with a pass on the ground to player B. Player B pased the ball with his first touch to player C who lays the ball off to D, also with his first touch. Each pass should be followed (A to cone II, B to cone III, C to cone IV). Level 2: Effectively the same sequence as in level 1, however the sequence is started with a one-two between player A and C, only then is the ball played to player B. Level 3: Effectively the same sequence as in level 1, only the first pass is a long ball in the air from A to C. Alternative: - The players can take two touches at first - The passing sequence should flow in both directions
  • Tip

    - The receiver should always make a small, dynamic dummy run away from or to the side of the ball before receiving the ball. - Hard, precise passes on the ground. - When laying the ball off, lightly raise the foot. - The long ball should be played in such a way that the receiver can immediately lay it off.

    Distance vertical/cones I to IV: 24m Distance horizontal/cones II to III: 10m Distance from cones I to II/cones III to IV: 15m
