Passing with different Passes and Runs

  • Organisation

3 cones are set up as shown. Two players start at the first cone. One player at each of the other cones.
  • Process

A passes to C. Player B makes a short dummy run towards A (B1) and then sprints to receive the cross-field pass from C. B lays the ball back to C with his first touch and then joins the cone behind A. A moves to cone III after his pass and takes on the former position from B. The pass sequence now starts again with C in the other direction.
  • Tip

Start by running the drill slowly and then speed up. The receiver should always make a small, dynamic dummy run away from or to the side of the ball before receiving the ball. - Demand good pass strength and precision. - Pass precision is more important than pass speed. - Concentration must be held at all times. - The timing of the passes and runs is essential.
