Passing with Goal Attempt

    The cones are set out as shown. Two or more players can start at the start cone. One players stands at each of the other cones. (1) Start (2) Dribbling (3) Shot on goal
  • Process

    One touch football is played in the pentagon followed by a deep pass (1-6) into the hexagon. The player receiving the long pass controls the ball on the turn and starts passes 7-12. Pass (13) is a lateral pass to player A. A controls the ball and dribbles quickly (14) before passing to B (15). B lays the ball off into the path of A (16) who shoots at goal (17) from around 14-17 meters. After the completed phase of play each player moves on one cone. Player A becomes the player laying the ball off (formerly B) and B joins the drill at the beginning.
  • Tip

    Start by practicing the exercise slowly and then raise the speed of the passing. The players waiting for the ball should always make a short, powerful dummy run (either sidewards or backwards) before receiving each pass. - The players will need a certain amount of time until they have memorized the movements. - Good technique, touch and passing is important. - The strength and precision of the pass. - Precision is more imporatant than speed. - Concentration must be held at all times. - Communication is continuously important. - Anticipation, awareness, reaction, speed of movement with and without the ball are regularly tested. - Practise of rehearsed phases of play.
