Shooting competition with three adjacent goals

  • Organisation

Set up three adjacent goals. A goalkeeper stands in each goal. The player stands 14-20 meters in front of the goal, each with a ball, in three rows.
  • Process

Every third player shoots at the same time. Each player shoots at a goal. The goalkeepers have to stop goals being scored in their goal. Options: a) Internal goalkeeper competition (whoever saves the fewest goals loses) or goalkeepers vs strikers b) After each pass the goalkeepers must change the goal (or move counter-clockwise). The trainer gives the striker the signal as soon as he can shoot again. Resources: 1 large field goal, 2 small field goals
  • Tip

Note: Just before the trainer touches the ball the goalkeeper does a small jump with both legs or takes a small step forward, spreads his arms out to the side, bends his knees slightly and stands on the balls of his feet. - His feet should point in the direction of the trainer and are about hip-width apart, upper-body bent slightly forward and eyes remain fixed on the ball. - His body must always be behind the ball in the defence position. - In the defence position the goalkeeper must never fall backwards, but only forwards. - The goalkeeper jumps with a force to the side or forwards. He slows momentum over his right foot and pushes off the ground with the balls of his feet. To the left he slows momentum over his left foot. - The goalkeeper tries to save the balls. If he is unable to do this the balls should be parried to the side. -Option b) As soon as the goal keeper makes a save he must run to the next goal, because he doesn’t know when the trainer will take the next shot.
