Touch I

  • Organisation

Two player start at opposing cones. One ball.
  • Process

Player A passes precisely on the ground to player B. When the player in possession passes, the player awaiting the pass makes a short run towards the ball. Player B should control the ball with the outside of the boot. Player B then pretends to shoot before passing back to player A who then does the same. The exercise then continuously follows this pattern.
  • Tip

    - The pass must be precise. - The pass should be hit hard. - The player receiving the ball should focus on his timing. He should move when the player in possession begins to strike the ball. - One touch. - The faked shot is a body movement. The players should try to make their movement look like a shot until the last possible moment when they actually start the intended ball trick. The player does this by swinging the shooting foot towards the ball and stabbing it sharply into the ground just behind the ball before flicking the ball to the side with his outstep. If the player completes the trick with his right foot, then he should swing his foot from right to left, over the ball before flicking the ball away with his right outstep. -The player should complete a short sprint (approx. 2m) after the trick and before passing. -The distances would always be held the same. I.e. the players not in possession wait next to their cone. -Train both feet.
