Touch football tennis

  • Organisation

Setup a head-tennis court 8 x 16 meters. The net in the middle should have a height of 1.5 meters. A 3-meter-wide corridor made up of cones can also be used instead of the net.
  • Process

The service should come as a volley or a drop-kick. The ball can bounce once and each team is allowed max. three touches (the ball must be returned over the net with the third touch). A new player must touch the ball after each touch. Every rally won/lost is rewarded with a point. The team which won the last point serves. A new player serves every time his team has the serve. Each set is played to 21 (by two clear points). I.e. if the score is 21:20 then at least one more point must be played etc. The coach can decide how many sets are played. Normally 2 or 3.
  • Tip

    - The teams can be made up of 1 - 4 players. 2 v 2 or 3 v 3 is ideal so that each player has enough touches of the ball. - 1 v 1 can be very intensive. The players train their close control, coordination and ball skills intensively. - The coach can vary the amount of touches allowed by each player. - Tip: If possible the players should try to control the ball with their first touch and then let it bounce before hitting the ball calmly back over the next with their next touch. - The players are, of course, allowed to control the ball with all parts of the body (except with their hand). The ball shouldn’t only be headed back and forth. The focus is on footwork and ball skills.
  • Field size

Court size 10 - 16 meters long and between 6 - 8 meters wide. The size of the court depends upon the number of player taking part.
  • Cone margins

width: 6-8 meters length (per court): 10-16 meters, in total 20-32 meters
