- Demand accuracy and a high-tempo over and over (slow training does not lead to long-lasting game appropriate consequences).
- The standing leg should be positioned 30-40cm laterally beside or in line with the ball.
- In the example of receiving and dribbling the ball with the right instep, the course of movements appears like so, that the player controls the ball with the instep at the moment that it touches the ground. Thereby the leg is swung from right to left in the direction of the ball. The foot is led slightly from above to below in the direction of the ball (similar to the foot movement when shooting on goal, however with a smaller back lift) thus stopping the ball from bouncing up and away. Here the bodyweight is completely on the left standing leg, the torso is twisted at the hips to the right (right shoulder is spun backwards).
The sight is focused on the ball, whereby additionally the torso is slightly brought over the ball.
- When receiving and dribbling the ball with the outside of the foot the ankle is opened inwards. The lower leg is bent inwards at the knee so that the movement of the foot from above to below and left to right in the direction of the ball can occur.
The contact area for the ball is the entire outside of the foot.
- The preferred passing technique for long (volleyed) passes is the instep: The ball is played partly wih the side foot and partly with the laces. The standing leg is positioned laterally next to the ball and the player’s torso goes in a slanting position. The toes point down, similar to the foot positioning by laces This passing technique has the advantage that the balls move with a higher tempo and lower trajectory and hence forms a type of pass that is fast and easy to control (for the pass receiver).
- When performing a lateral throw out, the arm is stretched back like a javelin thrower, and ball laid in the open hand. The stretched out arm is then powerfully thrown forwards, just missing the ear. The Stem-step is important here. When the goalkeeper throws with the right hand, the left leg is offset forwards to the side, and vice versa when throwing with the left hand.
