Set up a box with cones as shown. Two players must start at the starting position (where the ball is).
The player with the ball starts the passing sequence with pass (1) to the player in front of him. He then lays the ball back and runs around the cone. The first player then follows his pass and plays the return ball diagonally to the player top right.
He lays the ball off to the second player who has now encircled the cone. He then passes the ball diagonally with his first touch to the player bottom right who lays the ball off to the player top right who has now also encircled his cone. Each player moves on one cone after their second pass. The passing sequence repeats itself continuously: Lay off, diagonal pass.
4 cones.
- The player waiting for the ball starts moving towards the ball as the ball is passed.
- The player passing the ball must orientate his running speed to the speed of the ball.
- The standing leg is often too far away from the ball and/or the player leans back.
- Timing of the pass is important.
- Players often run faster than they pass.
- Demand good strength of pass and pass precision.
