GFA GK - Dealing with Crosses 2

  • Organisation

-Three (3) zones (6yds x 14yds) on each side of the 18 yd box, each zone marked out by a different color set of markers (x4 of each to mark the corner of each zone, total of 24 markers).

-Balls at the side of both goals (20 balls, evenly distributed among the two goals)

-Two (2) bibs (one color to distinguish other team).

  • Process

-GK positioned in the main goal will distribute the ball as instructed by the GK Coach to the receiving player with the same bib color, who is outside in the either of the three (3) zones.

-Receiving player must control the ball first time to another zone where the ball will be struck and delivered to the receiving GK.

-The receiving GK must correctly handle the delivered ball.

-After handling the ball, the GK will then distribute the ball to the receiving player at the other side with the same bib color. Who will then perform a delivery to the other receiving GK.

    Progression

-After alternating GK's and switching sides of delivery of crosses, change of distribution to the players in the three (3) zones.

-Pass back to distributing GK and receiving player prior to delivery.
