Passing in two Boxes IV

  • Organisation

A large box and a small box are formed with 8 cones. One player starts at each cone. The player at the start position has a ball. (1) Position change

  • Process

The first pass is square (horizontal) (1) follwoed by 2 diagonal, cross-field pases (inwards 2 and outwards 3). The same passing sequence is required contiuously. The players change places vertically, irrespective of whether they are in the inner or outer box.

    Alternative:

After a few minutes the players change positions from the inner to the outer box.

  • Tip

    - 8 cones.

    - This drill is very tiring.

    - The standing leg is often too far away from the ball and/or the player leans back.

    - Timing of the pass is important.

    - Players often run faster than they pass.

    - Demand good strength of pass and pass precision.

  • Field size

    20 x 20m

  • Cone margins

The outer cones are 20m apart. The inner cones 10. The distance between the inner box and the next cone is 5m.
