Set up a box with 4 cones. Two players start at the first cone, all the other cones have one player.
5 players, 1 ball Player A passes the ball to player B and follows his pass. Player B sprints diagonally with the bll to player C who performs a take. Player C controls the ball and passes to player D. D then dribbles, as before diagonally. The process should flow in both directions.
Alternative:
6 players, 1 ball The drill must start at the diagonally opposite cones, these cones must be occupied by at least 2 players.
4 cones.
- The ball should not be further than 50cm from the foot when dribbling. Make sure the players take small steps.
- Precision is more important than speed.
- It is advisable to drible with the outstep and then use the instep to correct dribbling when needed.
- The ball should not be passed too hard during the 'take'.
- The player awaiting the ball should stand showing his team mate on which foot he would like to receive the pass.
- The player awaiting the ball should start moving towards the ball when the passer has recieved the ball.
- The standing leg is often too far away from the ball and/or the player leans back.
- When passing the foot should be slightly lifted and swung downwards lightly towards the ball.
- Many players control and dribble the ball with their 'laces'. Controlling the ball with the instep is much easier as a first step.
