Throw, ball control & pass

  • Organisation

    The goalkeeper stands 2-3 m from his goal. Approx. 6 m to the side of him stand the 3 goalkeeper coaches (GC) with the balls, 2 small goals are constructed on the left and right side of the half-way line.

  • Process

    The GC throws a ball to the Goalkeeper at chest height. The goalkeeper has to process this ball as fast as possible (catch or use chest) and play it to the goal either on the left or right side on the half-way line. It is important to keep switching between left and right feet. Intensity: 30 Repetitions. Options: A

  • Tip

    1 full-court goal(s), 2 half-court goals, :- Demand accuracy and a high tempo (slow training does not lead to long-lasting game appropriate consequences). - The standing leg should be placed 30-40cm next to and accordingly in line with ball. - When receiving the ball turn the chest in the direction that the ball is going to be played. - If the ball is caught, quickly turn to the side of the goal, where the ball be played from. - Laces shot: The front of the foot points down, the ankle is tensed and torso is bent slightly over the ball. The contact area is the area behind the heel. In order to achieve greater distance slightly leaning back is allowed. - Kick with the instep: The ball is played partly with the side foot and partly with the laces.
