    SET UP:

    • 15m x 8m lanes
    • 2 pairs in each lane

  • Process

    • DF (red) pass ball to AT (blue) and DF closes space quickly
    • AT dribbles from side to side (zig-zags) working on designated dribbling technique
    • As AT dribbles, the DF works on DF shape and jockeying
    • Switch roles after each rep

    Inside Cut

    Outside Cut

Random (Unpredictable COD) – REACTIVE DF shape

Approach: Close down the AT w/ speed and intensity to delay forward movement

Communication: I GOT BALL!! (habit that translates to communication when defending in units)

Braking + Body Position:Smaller steps as you approach AT. Lower center of gravity and angle body shape (“side-on”)

Spacing: Be at a challenging distance from AT but not too close where he can easily accelerate pass you
