• Size of field: Twice the sixteen-yard box
• 2 goals with goalkeepers
• 2 cones
• balls (place additional balls all around the field)
14 players will be split into 2 teams with 7 players each.
5 players of a team will play inside the field, the other two players of the team will be on the outside in the attacking third and create passing angles (see graphic).
On the field, a 5v5 will be played with offsides.
If a player on the outside receives a pass from a player inside the field, he will dribble the ball inside and the player that passed him the ball will take his position.
Here, the outside player dribbling inside has to take a good first touch that will give him a chance to pass his defender in a 1v1 situation.
Communication from the back line will be key in this specific scenario (covering).
Four rounds of four minutes each will be played.
There will also be a two minute break after each round.
Coaching Points:
• teams should position in a 2-2-1-formation
• to allow an intense game in the first four minutes, try to limit disruptions by playing in the next ball immediately
Offense:
• try to play many passes into the final third and counterpress directly after losing the ball
Defense:
• Communication; keep spaces tight and compact
