Controlling the Ball - First and Second Touch

  • Organisation

    • 8 red cones

    • 8 blue cones

    • 4-6 balls

2 groups of players position themselves at the cones left and right of the goal.

The 2 players at the starting position each have a ball.

  • Process

Players A pass the ball to players B, who then take a controlled first touch, slightly spin around the cone and pass the ball further up the field to player C.

Player C takes a clean first touch that sets him up for a short dribbling which eventually leads to a shot on goal, at latest form the marked endline.

After that, all players rotate one position up the field (A to B, B to C)

  • Tip

    Coaching Points:

Scanning the pitch, to know your next move

    • Player C: take a decisive and clean first touch to set up a short dribbling sequence (2nd and 3rd touch). This will help you blow past your opponents.
