The 4v4 will be played on a smaller-sized field (size approx. 40x20m or 2x penalty box) with two big goals and goalkeepers. All available balls will be divided equally into the two goals. Two teams will play 4v4 in a given time. Players that aren't playing will jog around the field and complete small coordination and endurance drills. Equipment as seen in the animation will be needed.
16 players will split up into 4 teams of 4 players each. It is also possible to create 2 teams with 8 players each. Then the 2 parts of one team function as first and second team, so their scores will be added together. While 2 teams are playing, the remaining 8 players will complete the given drills. There should be a 2 min. break after a 5 min. game, subsequently followed by an exchange of teams. Four games should be played by each team. Goalkeepers will switch sides at half-time, if there are more goalkeepers available, then they will switch.
High intensity and applying full-field pressure are two key aspects of the 4v4. Furthermore, there should be a high emphasis on counter attacks and the ability to react quickly.
Players that aren't playing should be reminded to complete runs with higher intensity behind the two goals, followed by the completion of the coordination drills. Here, intensity and accuracy are important as well.
