Passing Pattern - Pass and Run

  • Organisation

    • 6-9 players (max. 18 players in 2 groups)

    • 30 x 15m sized rectangle

    • 4 cones, 1 cone at every corner

    • every 5m should be a mark on the length sides of the field

  • Process

The drill starts with a pass to the player in the center (First pass), who lays the ball off with one touch to the other side (Second pass).

The second player then plays a long, deep ball to the second (further) player in the center (Third pass).

That player leaves the ball for the sprinting player that started the drill (Fourth pass).

Then, a pass to the last player is player (Fifth pass), who has to dribble back to the starting point.

The player before him in the passing pattern tries to catch the dribbling player.

  • Tip

    Coaching Points:

    • coach every pass

    • directly follow your first pass

    • Passing pattern should be performed on both sides (play with both feet)
