Warm-Up Square

  • Organisation

    • 4 cones to mark the playing field
    • 4 additional cones in different colors
  • Process

    • ight warm-up with the ball at the feet. Players should always stay in motion. At the coach's whistle, a cone on the outside is quickly dribbled around. Then, return to the square.
    • 4 players outside with a ball, 4 inside the square without a ball. The players without a ball run towards the players with a ball and receive a pass. Then, they pass the ball back and run to the next player with a ball. It should always be played first with the right then with the left.
    • The balls are thrown in from the outside. Each cone color has a function. Red: right foot, Blue: left foot, Yellow: chest control, and White: head the ball from the air.
  • Tip

    Coaching Points

    Integrate various tasks into the dribbling at the start:

    • Dribble only with the left/right foot (including everything. Sole, inside, outside, and instep)
    • Alternate left outside, left inside, right outside, right inside
    • Pendulum the ball between the insides. Move forwards or backwards.
    • Perform feints followed by a change of pace (step-over, scissors, drop step, fake shot)
