Back Four Utilizing Wide Areas

  • Organisation

    • Mark a restricted zone with a 30-meter diameter from the center line
    • Place two mini-goals in the restricted zone at the center line
    • Divide into 6 defenders, 7 attackers, and 1 goalkeeper
  • Process

    • None of the players may run through the restricted zone, and the attacking team (Blue) may not play the ball through it either.
    • The attacking team attempts to score. The defending team tries to prevent this by shifting. After regaining possession, the defenders aim to play the ball into one of the mini-goals. The exercise starts alternately from the left and right side.
  • Tip

    Coaching Points

    • Practice both variations: The center-back pushes up to double up or the center-back holds the center.
    • Near-side center-backs: do not operate in the half-space.
    • Ball with the opposing full-back: The near-side center-back covers overlapping.
    • Shift compactly towards the ball.
  • Field size

    Half of the field
