Build-up Play via 4-Back Formation with Channels to Play Through

  • Organisation

    • 2 goals
    • Poles to form channel goals
  • Process

The team building up the play attempts to pass to one of the two forwards through the 3 channel goals. If successful, the passer should move into the attacking zone for a 3-2 situation. The defending team tries to disrupt the build-up play. If possession is quickly and effectively won, initiate a counterattack. The exercise always starts with the goalkeeper or the 4-back formation of the building-up team.
