Build-up Play with a Back Four

  • Organisation

    • 3/4 of the field
    • 2 goals
    • 3 small goals in the middle
    • Divide 8 players into a team against 7 players
  • Process

The team in build-up play tries to play one of the two forwards through the 3 passing gates. If successful, the passer should join the attack zone for a 3v2 situation. The defending team tries to disrupt the build-up play. If they win the ball, they can quickly counterattack. The exercise always starts with the goalkeeper of the yellow team.
