Creating Space in the Center

  • Organisation

    • 8 cones
    • 1 goal
    • 1 ball per round
  • Process

    • Players position themselves based on the cones.
    • A passes to B and quickly moves towards C.
    • C moves swiftly towards A as well.
    • B passes directly to C.
    • C passes to D, who lays it off back to C.
    • C plays a through ball to the overlapping B.
    • B dribbles towards the goal line and crosses into the box.
    • C makes a run towards the penalty spot, E occupies the near post, F makes a deep run, crosses behind E, and positions at the far post.
    • The objective is to finish with a shot on goal.
  • Tip

    Coaching Points:

    • Ensure timing during the positional switches between A & B.
    • Demand precise and powerful passes.
    • All players make effective initial movements.
    • Overlapping B must be aware of offside, with the yellow cones serving as the offside line.
    • B should lift their head before crossing.
