Defending | 2v3 to 4v3

  • Organisation

    • 2 goals (with goalkeepers)

    • 4-6 cones to mark the field

  • Process

There are two defending players and three attacking players in each half.

The attacking players want to score a goal.

When the attacking players are in possession, two players from the other half can join the defending team.

In this scenario, a 2v3 turns into a 4v3 due to the two additional players defending.

  • Tip

    Coaching Points:

Since the defenders are outnumbered in the beginning, they have to slow down the three attacking players until the additional two players come in to defend.

The attacking players should combine to create a goalscoring opportunity fast, as they have one more player.
