Dribbling Warm-up

  • Organisation

    • 10 cones

  • Process

    • Exercise 1: Position at the yellow starting cones. The red cones serve as a lane through which to dribble.
    • Exercise 2: Dribble up to each red cone in succession and cut back.

    VariationsExercise 1:

    • Use the right outer side, right inner side, right outer side, right inner side, etc.
    • Carry with the sole.
    • Pendulum the ball between feet (look up from the ball).

    Exercise 2:

    • Incorporate feints before the cones (include arm movements) (ensure an appropriate speed when feinting).
    • Cut back with the outside/inside/behind the standing leg.
  • Tip

    Coaching Points 

    • Keep close control of the ball.
    • Look up from the ball.
    • Initiate feints timely.
    • Act with both feet.
    • Maintain enough distance to the person in front.
