The game is played with flank zones in free play. Outside the flank zones, flat passes are used. Crossing from the flank zones is allowed and encouraged. Players entering the flank zone cannot be tackled.
Coaching Points
• When delivering crosses, target both the near and far posts, as well as the edge of the penalty area.
• Before delivering crosses, position the ball away from the defender to be able to make a diagonal run.
• Even though players in the flank zone cannot be tackled, crosses should be played swiftly and from a running position.
