Improving Passing and Ball Control with 2 Benches

  • Organisation

    • 2 benches or 2 walls
    • 4 cones to mark a square
  • Process

      • The player positions himself in the field and passes the ball against the first bench/wall. After controlling the returning ball, the player uses the first touch to play the ball against the second bench/wall. The player alternates passing the ball against the upper and lower bench/wall.
    • Variations:
      • Perform a body feint before the first touch.
      • Perform the exercise against time (How much time is needed to play against each bench/wall 5 times?).
  • Tip

    Coaching Points:

    • Maintain an open stance.
    • Pass with pressure.
    • If the ball is received with the left foot, pass with the right foot.
    • If the ball is received with the right foot, pass with the left foot.
    • Avoid leaning back while passing.
