One-Touch-Passing Drill

  • Organisation

    • 6 cones/poles
    • 1 ball
  • Process

    • In this passing pattern, A starts with a pass to B.
    • B plays a straight one-touch pass back to A, who then plays a wide diagonal pass to C'.
    • C' takes the ball with one touch behind the pole and passes straight to the position A' where a player is waiting.
    • A' plays a one-touch pass to B', who plays the ball back to A'.
    • A' passes diagonally to C, and the drill continues in this manner.
    • The players in the middle run after the diagonal pass. The outer players run straight into the middle or to the other side.
  • Tip

    1. Speed is crucial – high passing quality is a fundamental requirement.
    2. Formation of triangles.
    3. Movement and willingness to run of the players.
    4. Precision and situational passing sharpness.
    5. Passes should be flat and precise, as otherwise, the ball has to be controlled first.
    6. Play bold passes with calculated risk.
    7. Always follow the played ball and do not stand still.
  • Cone margins

The distance between the poles in one row should be about 7 meters.
