Passing Exercise - Square with Variations

  • Organisation

    • 4 cones to set up a square
    • At least 2 players at each cone
    • 1 ball per round
  • Process

    • Player A starts the exercise by passing to player B, who moves towards the pass, lets it bounce, and then runs towards group C.
    • Player A then plays a pass into the path of player B and moves behind group B.
    • Player B continues the passing sequence, doing the same with player C, and so on.
    • As the drill progresses, another ball can be added to increase intensity.
  • Tip

    Coaching Points:

    • Encourage a brief initiating movement before each pass.
    • Foster communication to ensure quick understanding of the exercise.
    • Emphasize the importance of pass quality.
