Passing with Subsequent Coordination Run

  • Organisation

    • 3 cones
    • 1 coordination ladder
    • 1 small goal
    • 4 vertical poles
    • 4 rings/cones
    • 7 hurdles
  • Process

    Set up 3 groups behind the cones (blue, yellow, red).

    The coach plays the ball to all 3 groups in any order. When passing to one side, the receiving player comes towards the ball, and the other two players follow one another back to the starting position (next to the next cone).

    After each station has been played to, all 3 players engage in a coordination run:

    • Blue coordination: Sprint through the vertical poles and then perform large lateral jumps (one-legged, right leg = right ring, left leg = left ring) through the rings.
    • Yellow coordination: Perform lateral sidesteps over the hurdles (alternatively, lateral two-footed jumps), then sprint to the small goal and around it (always keep looking forward).
    • Red coordination: Perform a coordination ladder exercise of your choice, increase the tempo towards the hurdles, and jump over them (using both feet).

    The players then rotate and join the next group (make sure that after the runs, they jog back at an easy pace for active recovery).
