Running ABC

  • Process

    • Players perform Running ABC exercises from the first to the second cone. On the way back to the first cone, run at a relaxed pace (but do not walk).
    • Possible exercises for the Running ABC:
      • Ankle work
      • Butt kicks
      • High knees
      • Alternating 2 high knees and 2 butt kicks
      • Crossover steps
      • Side-steps, normal
      • Side-steps, 2 steps forward, 1 step back
      • Arm circles forward
      • Arm circles backward
      • Skipping
      • Arms overhead and walk on tiptoes
      • Short sprints
      • Bending the knee inward
      • Bending the knee outward
      • Jumping with increasing height
      • Alternating touching the opposite hand with the stretched left and right foot
  • Tip

    Coaching Points 

    • Engage hands in the movement.
    • Side-steps: keep a low center of gravity.
    • Exercises can be performed in the warm-up in 2 rounds (in the 2nd round, perform the exercises at a high frequency).
