Sprint Drills from Jogging

  • Organisation

    • 6 cones in 3 colors

  • Process

    • The player positions themselves between the two red cones. The player jogs up to the blue cones and then transitions into a sprint. Once the player sprints past the yellow cones, they slow down to a jog. On the way to the blue cones, the following tasks can be performed:
      • Heel flicks
      • High knees
      • Skipping
      • Ankle work
      • 2-3 jumps (double-legged takeoff)
    • The player performs 6-10 rounds. After each round, the player takes approximately 60 seconds of rest.
  • Tip

    Coaching Points 

    • Transition explosively into the sprint.
    • Maintain straight arm movement.
    • Gradually stand upright.
    • Ensure stability in the core and hips.
    • Increase stride length (knee lift).
  • Cone margins

    • Red to Blue: 6-10 meters
    • Blue to Yellow: 12-20 meters
