Warm-up: Goal Shooting After Short Passing Play

  • Organisation

    • Minimum of 9 players and 2 goalkeepers
    • 2 goals, 4 cones, enough balls, with the balls starting at A
    • Initial positions: Position A is filled with three players, and C, D, and B each with two players. Position changes: The goal scorer moves to A, A then goes to B, and from B players switch alternately to C or D.
  • Process

    1. A low, powerful one-two pass from A to B (where B moves towards the ball and drops back after passing).
    2. A low, powerful pass from A to D or C. D or C should be alternated as the receiving player.
    3. C or D passes to B, who now leaves his fixed position on the side (thus offering support). After the pass, C or D sprints towards the goal.
    4. B passes into the run of C or D. Here, initially, a ground pass is sensible.
    5. and 6. Ball control and goal shot by C or D. The scorer retrieves the ball and goes to position A.
  • Tip

Variation: During the sequence, the coach commands which goal to shoot at (shot: low, mid-height, or high) or whether the goal shot should be concluded as a 1 vs 1 situation.

  • Field size

Field size varies according to capability. The cone distance (set up as a diamond) should be at least 8 meters.
