1 vs 1 after a Pass from the Half Field

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19, Men's / Women's
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players

Setup

  • 2 yellow starting cones
  • 2 blue cones
  • Red cones to set up the playing field and cone goals

Procedure

Assign attackers and defenders to their positions (as shown in the diagram). Limit the playing area to the center using cones.

A pass is made to the attacker from the yellow cone, who takes the ball forward for a 1 vs 1 play. The blue cone serves as a marker for the fullback, who moves forward with the pass. The defender blocks the inside path, slowly retreats, and directs the attacker to the outside. After winning the ball, the defender counter-attacks on the cone goal. The attacker is only allowed to play forward.

Tip

Coaching Points for the Defender:

  • Lower the center of gravity
  • Position slightly inside relative to the attacker
  • When trying to break through, position the body between the ball and the opponent
