1 vs 1 in a Restricted Zone

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 6 - 9 players

Setup

A rectangle is marked with cones at the height of the 18-yard box. In front of it, an additional cone. A goal is set up on the goal line, with a goalkeeper inside. 1 field player goes into the rectangle; the other players line up at the starting cone.

Procedure

The red player begins with a speed dribble toward the rectangle. The blue player tries to slow down the attacker's speed, positions himself offset to the side, offers his strong side, and tries to force the attacker outside. The attacker tries to beat the blue player and get a shot on goal. The blue player tries to win the ball himself. If the ball goes out of bounds of the cone rectangle, the next two players start.

Tip

- Players should move on the balls of their feet. - The attacker tries to use his sprint speed. - The defensive player tries to attack the attacker as early as possible so he cannot build up speed, and if possible, to position his body with the shoulder forward between himself and the attacker. - The defensive player tries to win the 1v1 with ball possession. - 5 cones, 1 full-size goal(s)
