1v1 after Pass from Midfield

  • Age U14 - U19, Men's / Women's
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

• 2 yellow cones

• 2 blue cones

• 14-16 cones to mark field and cone goals

Procedure

The attacking and defending players will position themselves as portrayed in the graphic.

A player located at the yellow cones plays a pass to the striker, located at the start of the channel, who then opens up and starts dribbling at the defender.

The blue cone serves as a kind of orientation for the full-back to move up when the striker receives the ball.

The defender slows down as he gets closer to the attacking player and forces him wide, away from goal.

If the defender wins the ball, he can counter by dribbling through the cone goal.

The attacking player, however, can only dribble forward.

Tip

Coaching Points:

• Slightly tuck in to leave the striker space to dribble "away" from goal

• If the striker wants to dribble past the defender, move the body between him and the ball
