A field is marked out with cones. A goal is set up on each end of the field, with a goalkeeper in each. 10 field players are divided into two groups and positioned next to the goals as shown in the diagram. A cone is placed on each sideline to mark the halfway line. The balls are distributed among the goals.
Procedure
The goalkeeper starts by playing a pass into the centre of the field, and one red and one blue player sprint directly to the ball. The faster player receives the ball and dribbles toward the goal. The slower player tries to catch up and push the attacker toward the side away from the goal. The attacker tries either to shoot directly on goal or to beat the defender and get a shot on goal. The defender tries to win possession and attack the opposite goal. If the ball goes out of bounds, the next pair of players starts from the other side. Alternative: If the goalkeeper saves the ball without holding it, he can immediately launch a quick counterattack.
Tip
- Players should move on the balls of their feet. - Both players start with the passer's backswing. - The faster player tries to use his sprint speed advantage. - The slower player, now the defender, tries to pressure the attacker so that the attacker cannot build up speed, and if possible positions his body between himself and the attacker with the shoulder forward. - 6 cones, 2 full-size goal(s)
