1v1 on Cone Goals

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

A rectangle is set up with cones and two cone goals are placed on the end lines. Two players enter the field with a ball.

Procedure

Two players play 1v1 for one minute each (with a short recovery break) on two small cone goals that are 12-16 metres apart. Many such fields can be set up so that an entire team can train 1v1 at the same time.

Tip

- The defender tries to close down the attacker as early as possible so that the attacker cannot build up speed, and if possible positions his body between himself and the attacker with the shoulder forward. - The attacker tries to use his starting advantage and constantly incorporate feints. - The defender tries to win the duel by gaining possession. - The defender should close off the path to the goal. Stand offset to the side so that the attacker must take the route away from the goal. - 8 cones
