Set up a field with two goals. A goalkeeper goes in each goal. The midfield line is marked with two cones. The players take their positions as shown in the diagram.
Procedure
2 vs 2 is played in each half without touch restrictions. In principle, the four players assigned to each zone may not cross the midfield line. However, when initiating an attack, one defender may join the other half. This creates a 3 vs 2 overload situation, but only if he passes the ball from his own half into the opponent's half or dribbles across the midfield line. The goalkeepers always start play. Thus, each zone has 2 attackers and 2 defenders. It is played 4 vs 4, creating 3 vs 2 or 2 vs 2 situations in the zones.
Tip
- The goalkeepers must immediately start play after the opponent's attack ends. - The attackers become defenders after losing the ball and pressure the two opposing players. - The team in possession should move the ball forward from the defensive zone as quickly as possible. - The two attackers should stagger their positions. One deep near the goalkeeper and the other toward the midfield line to offer passing options. - A constant interplay between attack and defence develops. - Teams switch after 2 minutes. - 6 cones or more, 2 full-size goal(s)
