2 vs 2 + 1 on One Goal

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19, Men's / Women's
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players

Setup

Pitch: Four cones mark the playing area; there is a goal at one end.

Equipment: 4 cones, 1 goal and several balls.

Players: Two attackers, two defenders and one feeder; in addition a goalkeeper.

Procedure

  • The attackers try to get away from their opponent and to get free for a pass.
  • One attacker receives the ball.
  • The two attackers then try to score a goal.
  • After winning the ball, the defenders pass it to the feeder as quickly as possible.

Note: The drill is well suited to practising the opposing movement of the two strikers. If one attacker comes short and is followed by the defender, the second striker can run into the free space behind and be played in behind. If a striker comes short and the defender keeps a distance, the attacker can be played to and can turn.

Tip

  • Finish the attacks quickly.
  • Control the ball with the foot furthest from the opponent.
  • The feeder dribbles once first; the ball must not be played into the playing area from a standstill.
